Working principle

The working principle of the tower standby energy storage battery is based on the electrochemical reaction, and the energy is stored and released through the embedding and deembedding of lithium ions between the positive and negative electrodes. During the charging process, lithium ions migrate from the positive electrode to the negative electrode and store electrical energy; During discharge, the lithium ions return to the positive electrode, releasing electrical energy for use by an external load. The whole process is highly efficient and reversible, ensuring the stability and long life of the battery.

Working principle

The core principle of the tower backup energy storage battery is to achieve efficient energy storage and release through the migration of lithium ions between the positive and negative electrodes. Lithium ions migrate from the positive electrode to the negative electrode when charging, storing electrical energy; When the lithium ion is discharged, it returns to the positive electrode and releases energy. The entire electrochemical reaction process is efficient, reversible and safe, ensuring stable performance and long service life of the battery system.

The tower backup energy storage battery achieves energy storage and release through the migration and electrochemical reaction of lithium ions. The specific working principle includes two processes of charging and discharging:
Charging process
During charging, external electrical energy drives lithium ions out of the positive electrode, through the electrolyte and diaphragm, and embedded in the negative electrode material.
At the same time, electrons flow to the negative electrode through the external circuit to realize the storage of electrical energy.
Reaction equation:
Positive: LiMO₂ → Li₁₋xMO₂ + xLi + xe⁻
Negative: xLi + xe⁻ + C → LixC
Among them, LiMO₂ represents lithium metal oxide (a common positive electrode material) and C represents graphite (a negative electrode material).
Discharge process
During discharge, lithium ions are removed from the negative electrode, migrate through the electrolyte to the positive electrode, and react with the positive electrode material to release the stored energy.
At the same time, electrons flow through the external circuit to provide power to the external load.
Reaction equation:
Positive: Li₁₋xMO₂ + xLi + xe⁻ → LiMO₂
Negative: LixC → xLi + xe⁻ + C

Main working mechanism

Lithium ion migration
When the battery works, lithium ions migrate back and forth between the positive and negative electrodes through the electrolyte, while electrons flow in the external circuit, thus achieving the charge and discharge process.
The action of electrolyte and diaphragm
Electrolyte: provides a conduction channel for the migration of lithium ions to ensure the smooth exchange of ions inside the battery.
Diaphragm: Blocks direct contact between positive and negative electrodes, preventing short circuit, while allowing lithium ions to pass through.
Embedding and deembedding of positive and negative electrode materials
The positive electrode material releases lithium ions during charging, and the negative electrode material receives lithium ions and stores energy; Discharge occurs in reverse, thus releasing energy.
