According to whether the system is integrated into the power grid, the home energy storage system can be divided into grid-connected system and off-grid system, the core difference is whether it is connected to the power grid, and at present, most regions use the off-grid all-in-one system.

Photovoltaic and energy storage systems can be connected to the grid, and electricity can be purchased from the grid when the power of photovoltaic or battery is insufficient. Suitable for stable power system, electricity price is relatively low area.
Grid-connected energy storage photovoltaic power generation system can store excess power generation and improve the proportion of self-use. The system is composed of photovoltaic module, solar controller, battery, grid-connected inverter, current detection device, load and so on. When the solar power is less than the load power, the system is powered by the solar energy and the grid together, when the solar power is greater than the load power, part of the solar energy supplies power to the load, and part of the unused electricity is stored through the controller.

It is suitable for desert, island and other areas without power grid, or areas where the power grid is unstable and needs to be used spontaneously. Use off-grid energy storage converters, usually with diesel generator interfaces, to supplement power at night when battery power is insufficient.

With the off-grid switching function or the integration of the grid-connected and off-grid modes in a machine, you can complete the switch into the off-grid mode when the power failure, suitable for the unstable power system and frequent power failure areas. The characteristics of the grid-connected mode are as follows

(1) Load priority

Pv will give priority to load and battery. When the photovoltaic can not meet the load demand, the battery begins to discharge; When the photovoltaic fully meets the load demand, the excess electricity will be stored in the battery. If there is no battery or if the battery is full, the excess power will be added to the grid.
Priority: Load > Battery > Grid

(2) Battery is preferred

In this mode, the battery is charged first. When you need to start the mains to charge the battery, the user needs to enable the AC CHG(mains charging) function, and set the start and end charging time and battery SOC point. If the mains charging function is not enabled, the battery can only be charged by photovoltaic.
Priority: Battery > Load > Grid

(3) Power grid priority

The electricity generated by photovoltaic will be preferentially connected to the grid. Start and end discharge times and battery SOC points can be set to send power to the grid at peak times.
Priority: Load > Grid > Battery
