What is transportation in supply chain management?

Supply chain management consists of three parts: procurement, manufacturing and transportation.

Transportation in the supply chain refers to the movement of products from one location to another. It starts from the beginning of the supply chain, goes into the warehouse with materials, and continues until the end user. The customer’s order is at home.

Because of the importance of transportation, the warehouse manager needs to check the transportation in the supply chain. Finally, for the model where transportation accounts for the total operating cost (a large part of the company’s supply chain cost), this is the only way to reduce the total cost.
