How do I choose a portable power pack?

A utility cabinet containing a power management system contains backup power connections, turn off switches, and quick fix fuses and switches that are typically used to manage specific problems.

The cabinet shell protects these important control systems from damage and tampering.

The utility cabinet can also be used as a separate enclosure for “auxiliary controls” when other controls cannot be accessed. (These systems are mandatory in high-voltage power systems.)

Best practice electrical design always includes a direct, easy to operate backup system. In general, the power control of the standby system will be wired through a separate utility cabinet.

The cabinet may be hardwired and/or contain a plug system for power connection management.
