What is a single-phase three-wire system

The input voltage of portable DC charging pile adopts single-phase three-wire system, which means that there are three lines in the single-phase AC power supply system, which are phase line (fire line), neutral line (zero line) and ground line (protection ground line).

single-phase three wire system

Single-phase input architecture

The first stage is a DC/DC converter that provides current isolation and outputs. The second-stage topology depends on the capabilities of the active elements. The other six main subsystems include: auxiliary power supply (including gate driver, electric flu-sensing circuit, voltage sensing circuit and controller) isolated gate driver, non-isolated gate driver, voltage detection, current detection, signal isolation, etc.

Phase Line (Live Wire)

This is the line that provides single-phase alternating current, typically with a voltage of 220V.

Neutral Line (Neutral Wire)

In a three-phase four-wire power supply system, the neutral line is used to balance the current of three-phase loads and serves as the return path for single-phase loads. In a single-phase three-wire system, the neutral line also serves as the return path for single-phase loads.

Ground Wire (Protective Earth Wire)

It is used for safe grounding to prevent electric shock to humans in case of electrical leakage from appliances.

This power supply method is mainly used for the supply of single-phase loads, ensuring the transmission of electrical energy, the smoothness of the circuit loop, and the safety of personnel. In the single-phase three-wire system, the voltage between the phase line and the neutral line is typically 220 volts, which is sufficient to meet the power needs of most homes and commercial premises. The ground wire is to ensure that in the event of electrical leakage from electrical appliances, the current can be directly conducted into the earth, thus avoiding electric shock accidents.

DC CHARGING PIlE SERIES

DC charging pile is an efficient charging facility for electric vehicles, which uses direct current (DC) to directly charge the vehicle battery, significantly reducing the charging time. Compared with traditional AC charging piles, DC charging piles are able to provide higher power output and can usually charge an EV to 80% of its capacity in 30 minutes, providing users with a convenient charging experience.
