The shielding layer refers to a layer of metal shielding structure set up in the DC charging pile cable in order to reduce electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI), and to prevent external signals from interfering with communication transmission. This layer structure is usually made of bare copper wire or tinned copper wire braid, can effectively shield the external electromagnetic field, protect the internal signal and power line from interference.

Function

Anti-interference: The main role of the shield layer is to reduce the magnetic loss of the cable itself and the interference of the magnetic field to the surrounding environment, while preventing the interference of external electromagnetic waves to the interior of the cable to ensure the stability and accuracy of signal transmission.

Working principle

Electrostatic shielding: By providing a closed metal surface, the shielding layer can effectively prevent the influence of external electromagnetic fields on the internal wiring. When an external electromagnetic wave reaches the shielding layer, an induced current is generated on the shielding layer, and this induced current generates an opposite electromagnetic field, thus counteracting the influence of the external electromagnetic field.
Electromagnetic reflection and absorption: The shielding layer not only reflects electromagnetic waves, but also absorbs part of the electromagnetic energy through the material, further reducing the possibility of electromagnetic waves penetrating the shielding layer.

Grounding: The shielding layer usually needs to be grounded to ensure the shielding effect. When the shield is grounded, any electromagnetic interference that penetrates the shield is directed to the ground, thus protecting the internal lines from interference.
