Salt spray test

Salt spray testing is used to assess the corrosion resistance of batteries in high salt environments, especially for use in coastal areas or other corrosive climate conditions. The salt spray test simulates how the battery will operate in a humid, corrosive environment, especially when used in Marine transportation, coastal cities, or industrial corrosive environments. Through testing, it is possible to verify that the material selection and structural design of the battery is resistant to corrosion, ensuring its long-term reliability in corrosive environments.

Salt spray testing is an important step in the assessment of battery environmental adaptability. By testing its corrosion resistance, the battery can ensure good performance and safety in a high-salt environment, and provide protection for use in coastal or industrial corrosion scenarios.

Test conditions

Place the battery in a salt spray test chamber at a set temperature (e.g. 35°C) and salt spray concentration (e.g. 5% sodium chloride solution) for a certain period of time (e.g. 24 hours, 48 hours or more).

Appearance check

Check the battery shell, connectors, and terminals for rust, corrosion, or other surface damage.

Performance evaluation

Test the electrical properties of the battery after salt spray exposure, such as capacity, internal resistance and charge and discharge performance are significantly changed.

Tightness verification

Check whether the battery tightness has been affected by corrosion, liquid leakage or internal damage.
