How often should the emergency power supply system be tested?

All inspections. Testing and maintenance (ITM) shall be carried out by qualified personnel. This person has the skills and knowledge related to the operation, maintenance, repair and testing of EPSS equipment and devices, and has received safety training to identify and avoid the hazards involved. Some of these tests may be carried out by suitably trained and qualified owners or facility managers, or a separate contractor may be employed.

ITM regarding emergency power supply system, it is very important to follow all manufacturers’ recommendations and instructions and any specific requirements of the authorities having jurisdiction.

Generally speaking, the emergency power supply system needs to be checked once a week, exercised once a month, and tested at least once every 36 months.
