How does EPS low-voltage protection for fire emergency power supply work

The low-voltage protection principle of fire emergency power supply EPS is as follows:

Mains voltage monitoring

The EPS system continuously monitors the input mains voltage. When the mains voltage is below a certain percentage of the rated input voltage (usually -15% or -20%), the system considers this to be a low-voltage situation.

Automatic switch to inverter power supply

Once the mains voltage is detected below the normal operating range, the EPS system's intercasting device will immediately switch from the mains power supply to the inverter power supply mode. At this time, the battery provides DC energy, and the inverter converts direct current to alternating current, continuing to provide a stable power supply for the load.

System controller response

EPS's system controller monitors the status of the entire system, including voltage levels, in real time. When a low voltage is detected, the controller sends an alarm signal and takes measures to protect the system, such as starting the inverter to ensure continuous power supply.

Protection function

EPS system has perfect protection function, including input/output over-voltage protection, input surge protection and so on. When overvoltage or low voltage occurs, these protection functions are activated to ensure the safety of the system and load.

Battery charge management

When the mains power supply is normal, EPS charges the battery pack through its charger, ensuring that the battery has sufficient energy supply in case of emergency. When the mains voltage is lower than the normal range, the system controller will adjust the working state of the charger to ensure that the battery can be charged normally under low voltage conditions.

Restore power supply

When the mains voltage returns to the normal working range, the EPS control center sends a signal to automatically shut down the inverter and switch from the inverter power supply to the AC bypass power supply through the transfer switch. Thereafter, the EPS provides mains power to the load through the AC bypass power supply path, while also charging the battery pack through the charger.

CONCLUSION

Through the above mechanism, the fire emergency power supply EPS can automatically switch to the inverter power supply when the mains voltage is too low, ensuring the continuous operation of critical loads such as fire equipment and emergency lighting in emergency situations, thus providing the necessary safety guarantee.

EPS BATTERY SERIES

The centralized power supply for fire emergency lighting is a kind of backup power supply equipment, which provides power guarantee for emergency lighting equipment to ensure that the on-site lighting equipment can operate normally in emergency situations such as fire. Provide a long-term backup power supply to meet the needs of the emergency lighting system.
