How do you determine the size of the solar street lamp?

Solar PV modules with different sizes will generate different quantities of electricity. The total peak power generated can be used to find out the size of the PV module. The peak wattage generated depends on the size of the PV module and the climate of the site location. Therefore, it is important to consider the “panel production factors” at different locations of each site

To determine the size of the PV module, calculate as follows: 2.1 Calculate the total watt peak rating required for the PV module Divide the total watt hour required for the PV module per day by 3.43 to obtain the total watt peak rating required for the PV panel to operate the appliance.

Calculate the number of photovoltaic panels in the system. Divide the peak rating calculated above by the rated output watt peak of the available photovoltaic panels. Then increase any fractional part of the result to the next highest complete number, which is the required number of photovoltaic modules.

The calculated result is the minimum number of photovoltaic panels. If more photovoltaic modules need to be installed, the system performance will be better and the battery life will be improved. If less PV modules are needed, the system may not work in cloudy days, and the battery life will be shortened.
