Dc charging pile display chip Timing Controller, usually refers to TCON (Timing Controller), that is, timing control board. It is the core circuit that controls the timing action of the LCD panel, is responsible for converting the video signal obtained from the motherboard into the data signal format required by the data drive circuit, and controls when the drive circuit starts.

Function:

Signal conversion: TCON converts externally received data signals, control signals and clock signals into signal formats suitable for data-driven integrated circuits (S-IC) and scan-driven integrated circuits (G-IC) to achieve image display of LCD panels.

Data processing: TCON analyzes the received LVDS differential signal, separates RGB data and DE signal, and performs ACC compensation, FRC, OD and other data processing.

Timing control: By counting and judging the DE signal, the starting position of each frame is determined, and then the required timing control signal is generated.

Power management: After the TCON board is powered on and stabilized, the startup program in EEPROM is read through I2C bus to complete the initialization of TCON.

Improve the display quality: Through the built-in Gamma correction circuit, provide the appropriate screen gamma value, improve the screen display effect.

Working Principle:

Signal reception and analysis: TCON receives signals from the motherboard, including TTL signals, LVDS signals, eDP signals and Vby-One signals and other formats.

Data processing module: The RGB data is processed by color compensation and frame rate control, and then converted into mini-LVDS signal output through the mini-LVDS output module.

Timing control signal generation: by counting and judging DE signals, the starting position of each frame is determined, and the required timing control signals are generated through the control signal module, such as STV (start vertical) and CPV/CKV (clock pulse vertical).

Power and level conversion: TCON contains a power management chip and a level conversion chip to provide a variety of different voltages required by the screen drive, mainly DCDC.

Gamma correction: Through the integrated Gamma correction circuit, several Gamma reference voltages are output and sent to the source to drive further voltage division, which is used as the reference for gray scale division.

polarity inversion: TCON uses polarity inversion (POL) signals to reduce flickering in the image display. Data transmission direction control: Control the transmission direction of data through L/R signals to ensure the correct transmission of data to the drive circuit.
