Monitoring and communication systems for battery packs

The monitoring and communication system of the battery pack is a part of the battery management system (BMS), which is responsible for monitoring the running status of the battery pack in real time and exchanging data with the external system. The main function of the system is to ensure the safe, efficient and stable operation of the battery pack. Through monitoring and communication, the system can know the health status of the battery pack in real time and take necessary safety protection measures.

Monitoring and communication systems for battery packs

The monitoring and communication system of battery pack is the core part to ensure the safe, efficient and reliable operation of battery pack. By monitoring the status of each cell in the battery pack in real time, it takes timely protective measures to prevent the failure or damage of the battery pack. At the same time, it ensures that the battery pack works efficiently with external systems such as vehicles, energy storage devices or charging piles by communicating with external systems. Monitoring and communication systems not only improve the safety of the battery pack, but also optimize the overall performance and life of the battery pack.

How monitoring and communication systems work

Data acquisition and processing

The voltage, temperature, current and other data of each battery cell are collected by the sensor and transmitted to the central control unit of the BMS. The BMS processes this data in real time, assessing battery status (such as SOC, SOH) and temperature changes to make decisions.

Condition assessment and balance Management

Based on real-time data, the BMS assesses the status of each cell and takes the necessary measures (such as activating the equalization circuit or temperature control) to ensure the cell balance of the battery pack.

Protection and alarm

If the monitoring system detects that the battery pack has security risks (such as overcharge, overdischarge, overtemperature, etc.), BMS will immediately take protective measures (such as disconnecting the circuit, starting the cooling system or sending an alarm signal) to prevent the battery pack from damage or accidents.

External communication

Through the CAN bus or other communication interfaces, the BMS transmits the operating status of the battery pack to the external control system in real time, such as the power system of electric vehicles, charging piles, etc. The external system can adjust the charge and discharge strategy according to the state of the battery pack, optimizing the efficiency of battery use and extending battery life.

low-speed car batteries
