What is three-phase five-wire system

The input voltage of the ground DC charging pile adopts the three-phase and five-wire system, that is, the three-phase AC power supply system contains five lines, which are three phase lines (three phases A, B and C), a neutral line (N line) and a ground line (PE line) respectively.

Three phase five wire system

three-phase input architecture

A three-phase architecture is a power system configuration that consists of three phases, each with a voltage and current phase Angle that differ by 120 degrees. Such a system enables more efficient transmission of power because it allows the load to be evenly distributed over the three phases, reducing line losses. Three-phase systems are widely used in industrial and commercial sectors due to their ability to provide stable power supply and higher power output. In the star connection, the tails of the three phases are connected to form a neutral point, while in the triangle connection, the phases are connected head to tail to form a closed loop. Three-phase architecture plays a key role in modern power systems due to its high efficiency and reliability.

Three phase lines (three phases A, B and C)

These are the three phases of a three-phase alternating current, each of which is 120 degrees out of phase from the other two. In the three-phase five-wire system, the three lines represent three different voltage phases.

Neutral line (N line)

also known as zero line, it is the current loop during three-phase load balancing. In the case of three-phase load balancing, the current of the neutral line is zero. However, when the three-phase load is unbalanced, the neutral line will bear the unbalanced current.

Ground wire (PE wire)

also known as protective grounding wire, used for safe grounding, to prevent electrical equipment leakage caused by injury to the human body. In the event of leakage, the current will be imported into the earth through the ground wire, so as to protect personal safety.

Three-phase five-wire power supply systems are widely used in industrial and commercial fields, especially where high power and stability are required. This power supply can provide more stable voltage and current, and can reduce additional losses due to load imbalance.

DC CHARGING PIlE SERIES

DC charging pile is an efficient charging facility for electric vehicles, which uses direct current (DC) to directly charge the vehicle battery, significantly reducing the charging time. Compared with traditional AC charging piles, DC charging piles are able to provide higher power output and can usually charge an EV to 80% of its capacity in 30 minutes, providing users with a convenient charging experience.
