A resistor is a passive electronic component used to limit the flow of current. In DC charging piles, resistors can be used in pre-charging circuits to limit the surge current to the load when the system is started.

Function

In the DC charging pile, the main role of the resistor includes: Current limiting charge: The resistor is connected in series in the charging circuit to play the role of instantaneous current limiting charge to protect some input circuit devices such as rectifiers. Precharge: When the system is first turned on, the resistor is used to precharge the load until the surge current subsides, protecting the circuit from damage.

Working principle

The working principle of the resistor is based on Ohm's law, that is, the current through the resistor is proportional to the voltage at both ends of the resistor and inversely proportional to the resistance value of the resistor. In a precharge circuit, when the system is first powered on, the resistor is plugged into the circuit, limiting the initial surge current. Over time, the current through the resistor is gradually reduced until a manageable level is reached, at which point the resistor can be bypassed or removed, allowing normal charging current to flow.
