Concept:

The Measurement and Calculation Unit (MCU) of the electric meter is the core component of the DC charging pile, which is responsible for accurately measuring and calculating the electric energy consumed by the electric vehicle in the charging process. It ensures the accuracy of electricity metering and provides a basis for charging pile operators to support billing and data.

Function:

Power metering: The MCU can accurately measure the electric energy consumed by the electric vehicle during the charging process, providing the billing basis for the operator.

Data support: Provide real-time monitoring and recording of power consumption during charging, and provide accurate power metering and data support for users and operators.

Transparent billing: Ensure that users can clearly understand their electricity consumption when charging, and provide transparent billing information.

System monitoring: real-time monitoring of current, voltage, temperature, power and other parameters, easy to query all kinds of data and abnormal situation records view.

Working Principle:

Current and voltage measurement: The MCU is equipped with current transformers and voltage sensors to monitor the current and voltage changes of the charging pile in real time.

Power and electrical energy calculation: By multiplying current and voltage, the MCU can calculate power and further cumulatively calculate the consumption of electrical energy, usually shown in kilowatt-hours (kWh).

Two-way power metering: Support two-way power metering (V2G), that is, can measure the electric energy consumed when the electric vehicle is charging, but also can measure the electric energy released when the electric vehicle external power supply.

Communication protocols: Use industry standard data protocols, such as OCMF readings that comply with S.A.F.E. 's requirements and support billing for electricity or parking time.

Data encryption and protection: Transaction data packets are encrypted to provide OCMF format, which can be read by S.A.F.E certified software to ensure data security.
