Crush Test

The main purpose of the squeeze test is to simulate the performance of the battery when subjected to external pressure or impact, and to evaluate the safety of the battery after being subjected to physical compression (such as collision or compression). Through this test, you can detect whether the battery will expand under pressure, leakage, fire or explosion and other dangerous situations, so as to ensure the stability and safety of the battery in the event of external impact.

Crush Test

Squeeze testing is important to ensure that the battery remains safe when subjected to external physical shock or compression. In practical applications, batteries may encounter extreme situations such as collisions, falls, and traffic accidents, so the squeeze test can verify that the battery has an effective safety protection design to prevent hazards caused by external forces.

Test procedure

Apply pressure

Use standardized equipment to apply gradually increasing external pressure to the battery until the battery is significantly deformed or reaches the pressure threshold specified in the test. The pressure is usually applied by mechanical pressure plates or hydraulic equipment, simulating a strong impact or squeeze on the battery.

Monitoring reaction

During the extrusion process, real-time monitoring of the battery's temperature, appearance changes (such as expansion, cracking, leakage) and any abnormal reaction of the battery (such as smoke, fire, etc.).

Continuous testing

The test usually lasts for a certain amount of time until the battery shows a significant change or reaches a set pressure level. After the test, check whether the battery is faulty.

End inspection

After the test is complete, check the external shape of the battery and whether there are any leaks, electrolyte ejection, expansion, or other danger signals.
